**A’ja Wilson a Finalist for Historic Fourth WNBA MVP Award**

HENDERSON, Nev. – Las Vegas Aces superstar A’ja Wilson is one step closer to making WNBA history. On Friday, she was named a finalist for the 2024 WNBA MVP award, placing her in contention to become the league’s first-ever four-time MVP.

Wilson, who previously secured the coveted title in 2020, 2022, and 2023 (unanimously), joins an elite group of three-time winners including Sheryl Swoopes, Lisa Leslie, and Lauren Jackson. Should she win this year, she will stand alone as the league’s most decorated MVP.

The other finalists vying for the award are Minnesota Lynx forward Napheesa Collier, Atlanta Dream guard Allisha Gray, Indiana Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell, and Phoenix Mercury forward Alyssa Thomas. None of these players have previously won the MVP.

Wilson’s outstanding season saw her lead the WNBA in scoring (23.4 points per game) and blocks (2.3 blocks per game), powering the Aces to a strong regular-season performance and the second seed. Collier, a strong contender, averaged 22.9 points and 7.3 rebounds per game as the leader of the top-ranked Lynx.

The winner of the MVP award, determined by a media panel vote, will be announced this Sunday. The anticipation is building as Wilson aims to etch her name further into WNBA lore and secure her place as one of the greatest players of all time.
