**Seminole County Deputies Fatally Shoot Child Pornography Suspect**
LONGWOOD, Fla. — A suspect wanted on child pornography charges was shot and killed by Seminole County Sheriff’s deputies on Wednesday. Sheriff Dennis Lemma identified the suspect as Gary Guckenberger, a retired Seminole County firefighter.
According to Sheriff Lemma, deputies were conducting surveillance on Hatfield Court in Longwood, acting on tips received about illegal activity occurring at the residence. As Guckenberger exited his home, using a walker, deputies moved to apprehend him.
“He immediately reached into his waistband and pulled out a .38 revolver and raised it up,” Sheriff Lemma stated. Deputies then fired, fatally wounding Guckenberger. Sheriff Lemma believes two shots were fired.
An investigation revealed that Guckenberger possessed over 100 explicit videos involving minors. Law enforcement is now urging anyone who may have had contact with Guckenberger to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation.
