**Kangana Ranaut Voices Financial Woes Amid Himachal Pradesh Disaster**
**Manali, Himachal Pradesh -** Kangana Ranaut, the BJP MP representing Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, has expressed her concern over financial losses at her restaurant in Manali during a visit to flood and landslide-affected communities on Thursday.
Ranaut, who launched “The Mountain Story” earlier this year, a restaurant specializing in Himachali cuisine, stated, “Yesterday, my restaurant made only Rs 50 in sales, and I pay Rs 15 lakh in salaries. Please understand my pain too. I am also a Himachali and a resident of this place.”
Her remarks come as dozens of families in her constituency grapple with the devastating effects of landslides, flash floods, and heavy rainfall that have ravaged large parts of the state. Ranaut’s restaurant, located in a tourism-dependent region, has been significantly impacted by the recent weather-related disruptions.
During her tour of Solang and Palchan, accompanied by BJP leader and former MLA Govind Singh Thakur, local residents briefed Ranaut on the extensive damage. They highlighted that 15 to 16 houses had been deemed unsafe, with occupants relocated. Residents of Solang village voiced concerns about the imminent risk of landslides due to the Beas river eroding the mountain on which the settlement stands, requesting urgent river diversion measures.
The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow warning for heavy rain, thunderstorms, and lightning in several districts, exacerbating the already dire situation. Road connectivity is severely disrupted with 566 roads closed, including two national highways.
According to the Himachal Pradesh State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC), the monsoon season has claimed at least 419 lives, including 237 rain-related deaths, since June 20.
