**Luxury Bus Fire Averted Near Vellore, All Passengers Safe**

**VELLORE, September 19, 2025** – A private luxury bus traveling from Chennai to Bengaluru caught fire early Thursday morning on the Chennai-Bengaluru Highway near Agaramcheri village, approximately 5 km from the Pallikonda toll gate. All 26 passengers and crew members escaped unharmed.

According to police reports, the driver, K. Sankar, 40, noticed smoke emanating from the bonnet of the bus around 1:30 a.m. He promptly pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road, allowing for the safe evacuation of all occupants, including ten women.

One passenger experiencing breathlessness due to smoke inhalation was transported to the Government Taluk Hospital in Gudiyatham for treatment. Firefighters from Gudiyatham quickly responded to the scene and extinguished the blaze, but the bus was completely destroyed.

Traffic was disrupted for over an hour while authorities cleared the charred remains of the vehicle. Preliminary investigations suggest an electrical short circuit may have been the cause of the fire. A full investigation is currently underway.
