**Delhi, September 18, 2025** – The Lady Shri Ram (LSR) College for Women Students’ Union is demanding a public apology from retired diplomat Deepak Vohra following a lecture he delivered at the institution on September 11, 2025. The union alleges that Mr. Vohra’s remarks during the session, titled ‘Unstoppable India 2047’, were “misogynistic and derogatory.”
In an official statement released today, the LSR Students’ Union expressed strong condemnation, stating that the address was marked by comments that were “not only divisive but also misogynistic, derogatory,” arguing that “Such statements have no place in an academic institution, and their delivery on our campus was a direct violation of our values and intellectual standards.”
The union’s statement specifically highlighted an alleged comment made by Mr. Vohra regarding a desire to be reborn as a man after the college principal suggested being reborn as a woman to study at LSR. They claim this remark revealed a “deeply ingrained misogyny.”
The presentation also featured a slide titled ‘Bharat’s Four Azaadis’, linking key historical and recent events to various forms of freedom.
Mr. Vohra has not yet responded to requests for comment regarding the allegations. The incident has sparked outrage among students and raised concerns about inclusivity and respect within academic spaces. The LSR Students’ Union is urging Mr. Vohra to issue a public apology for his alleged remarks.
