Wed Sep 17 13:51:24 UTC 2025: **Tiruchi Corporation Steps Up Monsoon Preparedness, Tackles Hazards**

**Tiruchi, India – September 17, 2025:** The Tiruchi Corporation has launched a comprehensive monsoon preparedness initiative aimed at mitigating potential hazards posed by dangling wires, unauthorized banners, and overgrown tree branches across the city. The civic body has allocated ₹40.85 lakh to acquire a specialized lift-mounted truck equipped with a hydraulic lift, allowing workers to safely address these elevated dangers.

The new vehicle will enable the removal of hanging communication wires from electric poles and lamp posts, the dismantling of illegally placed flex banners on medians and poles, and the systematic pruning of overgrown tree branches. Officials have emphasized the importance of this proactive approach in preventing accidents during the monsoon season, when strong winds and heavy rainfall can exacerbate these existing issues.

Dedicated teams have already been deployed across the city’s five zones to begin the pruning of tree branches, which often fall onto power lines, lamp posts, and moving vehicles, causing power outages and potential harm. The Corporation will prioritize high-risk areas, including school zones, commercial hubs, crowded locations, and stretches prone to accidents.

Despite previous enforcement efforts, the persistent issue of dangling communication wires and unauthorized banners remains a challenge. The Corporation has reiterated its call for telecommunication service providers and cable TV operators to remove low-hanging cables from arterial roads. Civic activist N. Jamaludeen emphasized the need for regular enforcement drives to ensure a safe environment for residents, stating that “Dangling cables not only pose a threat but also damage the stability of poles.”

The Corporation’s commitment to public safety through this multi-pronged approach demonstrates its dedication to ensuring a safer monsoon season for the residents of Tiruchi.
