Wed Sep 17 04:31:03 UTC 2025: ## Modi Turns 75: Nation Celebrates with “Sewa Pakhwada”

**New Delhi – September 17, 2025:** Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated his 75th birthday today, prompting a nationwide celebration led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The party has launched a “Sewa Pakhwada,” a fortnight-long initiative filled with outreach programs, welfare activities, and development projects across the country, culminating on October 2nd.

President Droupadi Murmu extended her heartfelt birthday greetings to the Prime Minister, acknowledging his leadership in fostering a culture of ambition and achievement within the nation. She also noted the global community’s faith in his guidance.

The BJP-led central and state governments have planned a comprehensive agenda, including health camps, cleanliness drives, intellectual gatherings, and fairs promoting local products. PM Modi himself is in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, today to inaugurate a national campaign dedicated to improving the health and nutrition of women and children. He is also scheduled to unveil other development programs, focusing particularly on tribal populations.

Various leaders from the BJP and allied parties conveyed their birthday wishes. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised Modi’s visionary leadership and dedication, stating that he has instilled a new energy and direction in the country, bolstering its capabilities and global standing. BJP President J.P. Nadda highlighted the Prime Minister’s transformative steps toward building a self-reliant (“aatmanirbhar”) and developed (“Viksit”) India, aiming for the progress of all segments of society.

Nitin Gadkari hailed Modi as the world’s most popular leader, expressing his hope that India, under his continued leadership, will achieve self-reliance and emerge as a “vishwaguru,” while eradicating terrorism and corruption.

Having been born on September 17, 1950, in Vadnagar, Gujarat, Narendra Modi is the third longest-serving Prime Minister of India, after Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi. He holds the second position for uninterrupted tenure. While the BJP rose to prominence under the dual leadership of Atal Bihar Vajpayee and L.K. Advani, it has cemented its position as the dominant political force in India under Modi’s leadership since 2014. Despite a slight setback in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the party has rebounded with impressive victories in recent state assembly elections.
