Mon Sep 15 20:50:00 UTC 2025: ## SFPD Swiftly Apprehends Bank Robbery Suspect After String of Heists
**San Francisco, CA – September 11, 2025** – San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) officers apprehended a suspect on September 10th, 2025, following a series of bank robberies in the city’s Central District. The rapid arrest highlights the effectiveness of community partnerships and strategic police work.
The incident began around 12:02 p.m. when officers responded to a robbery activation at a bank on the 1100 block of Grant Avenue. According to police reports, a male suspect entered the bank, presented a note demanding money, and fled with an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency after the employee complied.
The SFPD Robbery Unit was immediately notified and took over the investigation, working closely with SFPD Ambassadors and leveraging leads provided by the community. This collaboration quickly led to the identification of the suspect as 62-year-old Valentino Luchin, a resident of the Central District.
Further investigation revealed that two additional bank robberies had occurred in the same district that day, both exhibiting a similar suspect description and method of operation. Police determined that Luchin was responsible for all three incidents.
“Due to the hard work of Central District officers, investigators, and SFPD Ambassadors, the suspect was swiftly identified and apprehended,” an SFPD spokesperson stated.
Luchin was apprehended without incident and transported to San Francisco County Jail. He has been booked on charges including robbery (211 PC), attempted robbery (664/211 PC 2nd), and robbery (211 PC 2nd degree).
