**New Delhi, India** – What was meant to be a joyous 22nd birthday for Navnoor Singh turned into a day of profound grief as he mourned the loss of his father, Navjot Singh, who died in a tragic accident near the Delhi Cantonment metro station. The accident, which occurred on [Date of accident – Not Provided in Original Text], also left Navnoor’s mother, Sandeep Kaur, seriously injured and hospitalized.
Adding to the heartbreak, Navnoor received a final, poignant surprise from his father on his birthday: an air fryer and a shirt Navjot had ordered before his death. The delivery arrived just hours before Navnoor was to cremate his father.
Navjot Singh, a 52-year-old Deputy Secretary with the Union Finance Minister, was riding a bike with his wife when a speeding BMW allegedly rear-ended their vehicle. Navjot was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Friends and family are demanding justice, questioning why the BMW driver, Gaganpreet Kaur, transported the couple to a hospital 19 kilometers away instead of a closer medical facility. According to police sources, the GTB Nagar hospital is co-owned by Gaganpreet’s father. Navjot’s family has alleged a cover-up attempt.
Gaganpreet and her husband, Parikshit, who was also in the car, have been charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder, rash driving, and concealing evidence. Gaganpreet is currently in judicial custody.
“Accidents can happen to anyone,” said Rishabh, a close friend of Navjot. “But when an accident happens, wouldn’t you call the police and an ambulance? Why take them to a hospital so far? The ambulance might have come in five minutes and my friend could have been saved.”
