Mon Sep 15 00:50:00 UTC 2025: **”Traitors Ireland” Contestants Katelyn and Eamon Respond to Online Abuse After Eviction**
**Dublin, Ireland** – Evicted “Traitors Ireland” contestants Katelyn and Eamon are speaking out against the barrage of online criticism they’ve received following their exposure as Traitors on the hit RTÉ show. The pair, who were banished from Slane Castle in recent episodes, have faced hostile commentary online, with Katelyn admitting she had to block several users from her social media accounts.
Katelyn, an organizational development consultant, expressed her disappointment at the disproportionate hostility, stating, “It is a little bit sad that in 2025 that when a woman shows a little bit of strength, it attracts such disproportionate hostility.” She added that some of the criticism felt “gendered and a bit loaded.”
Eamon, a member of An Garda Síochána, echoed her sentiments, emphasizing that “It’s a TV show first and foremost and it’s a game. It’s called ‘The Traitors’ for a reason.” He explained that he purposefully played a character the audience would “root against” and hoped viewers understood it was all in good fun. He also praised the support he’s received from his colleagues in the Gardaí.
Despite the negativity, both Katelyn and Eamon emphasized the overwhelming support they’ve received. Eamon lauded remaining Traitor Paudie as a “superstar” and confirmed he wouldn’t have betrayed him by revealing his true allegiance upon eviction.
Both contestants expressed their gratitude for the experience, calling it “incredible” and an “absolute honour.” Eamon even predicted the show would be featured on “Reeling in the Years.”
“The Traitors Ireland” continues on RTÉ One with the remaining contestants battling for the €50,000 prize.
