**Syracuse Native Carina Sposato Nominated for Emmy Award**

**Los Angeles, CA – September 14, 2025** – Tonight, all eyes will be on the 77th Annual Emmy Awards, and for one Central New York native, the stakes are especially high. Carina Sposato, a 2008 graduate of Manlius Pebble Hill School in Syracuse, is nominated for an Emmy Award for her work as co-executive producer on the critically acclaimed Netflix limited series, “Adolescence.”

The psychological drama, which has captivated audiences worldwide, is nominated in the prestigious Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series category. Sposato shares the nomination with a team of 13 fellow producers, including renowned actor and producer Brad Pitt and SAG-award winner Stephen Graham, who also starred in the series.

“Adolescence,” set in West Yorkshire, England, centers on the arrest of a 13-year-old boy accused of murdering his classmate. Upon its release in March, the gripping crime drama quickly became a global phenomenon, achieving over 142.6 million views within its first 91 days on Netflix, making it the second most-watched show globally on the platform, according to Netflix’s Tudum.

Sposato’s mother, Joanna, still residing in Syracuse, expressed her excitement to syracuse.com, stating, “I’m just thrilled for her. She’s a hard worker and I’m just very, very proud.”

This is Sposato’s first Emmy nomination. After earning her Bachelor’s degree in Film Studies from Yale University, she moved to California to pursue her career in entertainment. Currently, she serves as the Head of Television at Department M, an independent production studio founded by Mike Larocca and Michael Schaefer. Prior to this role, she was a producer at Plan B Entertainment, where she worked on “Adolescence.”

Competing against “Adolescence” in the Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series category are “Black Mirror,” “Dying for Sex,” “Monsters: The Erik and Lyle Menendez Story,” and “The Penguin.”

The 77th Emmy Awards will be broadcast live tonight, September 14th, at 8:00 PM ET on CBS and available to stream on Paramount+. The ceremony will be hosted by comedian Nate Bargatze.
