**Los Angeles, CA -** Merritt Wever added another Emmy to her collection last night, taking home the award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Gretchen, the wife of Outie Dylan in AppleTV+’s critically acclaimed series “Severance.” In the show’s second season, Wever’s character makes several poignant visits to her husband’s Innie at Lumon Industries.
Wever, already a two-time Emmy winner, is celebrated for her performances in hit series like “Nurse Jackie,” “Godless,” and “Unbelievable.”
The Creative Arts Emmys, held at the Peacock Theater in Downtown Los Angeles, recognize excellence in various behind-the-scenes and guest performance categories. “Severance” led the drama nominations with a total of 27 nods, including outstanding production design and outstanding editing.
Other notable winners from the evening included Julianne Nicholson for Guest Actress in a Comedy Series (“Hacks”) and Bryan Cranston for Guest Actor in a Comedy Series (“The Studio”). “The Studio” emerged as an early frontrunner, securing five awards by the halfway point of Saturday’s ceremony. Julie Andrews won for her voice over work for Lady Whistledown in “Bridgerton.” Beyonce and her team won for the costuming in a live performance.
Presenter Maya Rudolph kicked off the show with a tribute to the artisans and crew who contribute significantly to the magic of television, calling it “the real Emmys.”
“Severance” topped this year’s nominations with 27 nods, while “The Studio” nabbed 23. “The Penguin” led the limited-series race with 24.
