**Hulu to Premiere “Murdaugh: Death in the Family” on October 15**
**LOS ANGELES, CA –** Hulu is set to delve into the dark and twisted saga of the Murdaugh family with the new limited scripted series, “Murdaugh: Death in the Family,” premiering October 15th. The series, inspired by Mandy Matney’s popular “Murdaugh Murders Podcast,” will explore the shocking events surrounding the prominent South Carolina legal dynasty, culminating in Alex Murdaugh’s 2023 conviction for the murders of his wife, Maggie, and son, Paul.
Jason Clarke stars as Alex Murdaugh, alongside Patricia Arquette as Maggie Murdaugh. The series’ synopsis reveals that Maggie and Alex’s privileged life begins to unravel after Paul (played by Johnny Berchtold) is involved in a fatal boat crash. As secrets emerge and the family’s connections to other mysterious deaths are scrutinized, everything they hold dear is threatened.
The series also stars Brittany Snow as Mandy Matney, the journalist whose podcast shed light on the Murdaughs’ criminal investigations, including unsolved deaths, insurance fraud, drugs, and murder. Will Harrison plays Buster Murdaugh, and J. Smith-Cameron portrays Marian Proctor.
Arquette has described the Murdaugh story as a “sad, rotten American tale.” She emphasizes the self-deception and destructive dynamics at play, noting how Maggie became “normalized to this kind of out-of-control behavior.”
The first three episodes of “Murdaugh: Death in the Family” will be available on Hulu starting October 15th, with new episodes released every Wednesday, concluding with the season finale on November 19th.
