Sun Sep 14 18:20:00 UTC 2025: **Browns Rookie Judkins to Start Against Ravens, Workload Managed Amid Debut**

**Cleveland, OH** – Rookie running back Quinshon Judkins is set to make his NFL debut and first career start for the Cleveland Browns this Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens. However, Browns fans shouldn’t expect a full workload for the young player. According to CBS Sports NFL insider Amanda Balionis, Judkins will share time in the backfield as the Browns seek their first win of the season.

“Judkins will start, but he’ll be on a pitch count,” Balionis reported on CBS Sports HQ. Fellow rookies Dylan Sampson and Harold Fannin are also expected to contribute significantly, building on their performances from Week 1. Quarterback Joe Flacco praised them as “two big bright spots” and the team hopes to maintain their momentum.

Judkins recently signed his four-year rookie contract after a brief delay related to a July arrest for misdemeanor domestic assault. While Fort Lauderdale police ultimately declined to pursue formal charges, the NFL granted the Browns a standard two-game exemption, allowing Judkins to be on the team without counting against the roster limit last week.

Despite the limited reps expected, Judkins expressed his readiness, stating, “As a competitor, you want to go out there and do your best every single day you step on the field. So if I have to play, I’m going to give it my all.”

Head Coach Kevin Stefanski also voiced confidence in Judkins’ physical preparedness, saying, “He’s done everything we’ve asked him to do up to this point… But I do think he’s in good shape.”

The Browns face a tough challenge as they go up against the Ravens who boasted the league’s best rush defense last season. Offensive coordinator Tommy Rees emphasized that Judkins has quickly grasped the game plan for the week, allowing him to quickly jump in. “For him it’s really focused on, all right, we have a new playbook for this week’s opponent, let’s try to master that instead of saying, here’s our seven installs at training camp. That’s a little bit more daunting than one game plan.”
