**Wayans Brothers Reunite for “Scary Movie 6,” Promising Generational Parody and Legacy Cast Returns**

HOLLYWOOD, CA – The Wayans brothers are back to deliver the laughs with “Scary Movie 6,” slated for a theatrical release on June 12, 2026. In an exclusive interview, Marlon Wayans revealed the much-anticipated sequel will be a fresh start for the franchise, written by himself, Shawn, and Keenan Ivory Wayans – their first collaboration in 18 years. Rick Alvarez will also be involved in writing and production.

Wayans, known for his iconic role as Shorty, is already undergoing a physical transformation to reprise the character. “I just lost 20 lbs busting my behind every day ’cause I didn’t wanna show up to set as Shorty buff at 225,” he stated, emphasizing his commitment to authenticity.

“Scary Movie 6” aims to satirize the evolution of horror, from classics like “I Know What You Did Last Summer” and “Scream” to modern hits like “Get Out,” “Nope,” and “Longlegs.” Wayans acknowledged the changing landscape of both horror and comedy, promising a film that bridges the generational gap through humor.

The film will see the return of familiar faces like Regina Hall (Brenda) and Anna Faris (Cindy), alongside Wayans. “We have plans to bring a few more back,” Wayans teased, hinting at further legacy cast appearances.

True to the “Scary Movie” spirit, Wayans promises a no-holds-barred comedy that doesn’t shy away from sensitive subjects. “We just want to make everybody laugh,” he said. “We made fun of Black people, we made fun of white people, we made fun of Hispanic people… That’s just what we do. We make fun of the world, make light of the world.”

“Scary Movie 6” is poised to be a major comedic event, offering laughs across generations and reaffirming the franchise’s place in the horror-parody hall of fame. Get ready for a wild ride when it hits theaters in 2026.
