**Kusal Mendis Eyes Historic Milestones at T20 Asia Cup 2025**

**Abu Dhabi, UAE –** Sri Lankan star batsman Kusal Mendis is poised to achieve two significant milestones at the upcoming T20 Asia Cup 2025, set to begin on September 13th in Abu Dhabi.

Mendis, currently the second-highest T20I run-scorer for Sri Lanka behind Kusal Perera with 2,076 runs in 84 matches, is within striking distance of becoming the first Sri Lankan to hit 100 sixes in T20Is. He currently has 86 sixes to his name. A mere 14 sixes during the tournament would propel him to this landmark achievement.

Furthermore, Mendis is also on the verge of becoming only the fourth Sri Lankan cricketer to smash 200 T20I boundaries. He needs just 20 more fours to reach this mark, joining the ranks of Tillakaratne Dilshan (223 fours), Kusal Perera (205 fours), and Pathum Nissanka (202 fours).

Sri Lanka, captained by Charith Asalanka, is placed in Group B and will begin their Asia Cup campaign against Bangladesh on September 13th at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
