**77th Emmy Awards Set to Honor Television’s Best This Sunday**
**LOS ANGELES, CA** – The 77th annual Emmy Awards are poised to celebrate the best in television this Sunday, airing live on CBS and streaming on Paramount+ (premium plan required). Comedian Nate Bargatze will host the ceremony, which begins at 8 p.m. Eastern (5 p.m. Pacific) from the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles.
Bargatze, known for his clean and widely appealing humor, was tapped to host earlier than usual, signaling a shift from potentially political hosts such as Stephen Colbert. The show, which typically runs for three hours, will hand out 25 awards, including top honors for drama, comedy, limited series, and talk series. Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen will be presented with the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award.
Leading the pack after last weekend’s Creative Arts Emmy Awards are “The Studio” with nine wins and “The Penguin” with eight. Competition is fierce in the major categories. “Severance” and “The Pitt” are expected to battle it out for Best Drama, while Noah Wyle (“The Pitt”) and Adam Scott (“Severance”) are vying for Best Actor in a Drama. “The Studio” is the favorite for best comedy and “Adolescence” the favorite in the limited series.
Viewers can catch red carpet coverage on E! starting at 6 p.m. Eastern and on CBS at 7 p.m. Eastern, hosted by “Entertainment Tonight” personalities Kevin Frazier and Nischelle Turner.
