**Oxford Spires’ Final Home Speedway Clash Against Leicester Lions Postponed Due to Weather**

**OXFORD, UK** – The BetGoodwin Oxford Spires’ highly anticipated final home meeting of the 2025 ROWE Motor Oil Premiership season against the Leicester Lions, originally scheduled for Thursday, September 4th at the BetGoodwin Oxford Stadium, has been postponed due to inclement weather conditions.

The Spires were looking to end their season on a high note against a Leicester team vying for a second-place finish and a strong position heading into the playoffs.

Oxford Spires manager Peter Schroeck had emphasized the team’s desire to secure a victory for their loyal fans in their last home appearance of the season. Richard Lawson was set to guest for the Spires, filling in for the injured Erik Riss. Lawson, known for his strong performance at Cowley while riding for King’s Lynn, was chosen to give Spires the best chance of a win.

The meeting also promised a showcase of world-class talent, with Spires’ captain Maciej Janowski and Lions’ captain Max Fricke, both recent competitors in the Polish Grand Prix, expected to battle it out on the Oxford track.

Fans who had purchased tickets for the original date will be contacted regarding rescheduling or refunds.

While this was to be the Spires’ final home fixture, speedway action will continue at the BetGoodwin Oxford Stadium this season, with the SD Timmo Car Sales Oxford Cheetahs and the Real Mini Company Oxford Chargers still competing for silverware in their respective leagues.
