The incident occurred early this morning when two men on a motorcycle reportedly fired shots at the residence. Disha and Khushboo’s father confirmed the attack, stating that two men on an Apache bike fired at their home around 3:30 am.
The controversy began after Khushboo Patani, reportedly made a comment against Aniruddhacharya’s statements about women. These statements were then linked to another religious leader, Premanand Maharaj, leading to further social media backlash.
Following the firing, Khushboo Patani clarified that her initial comments were directed at Aniruddhacharya and not Premanand Maharaj, who she holds in high regard. “Premanand Maharaj is revered by us. We cannot even think of disrespecting him. I have stated numerous times that if I get a chance, I would visit and take his blessings,” she said in a statement, accusing some social media users of misrepresenting her words.
Disha’s father defended his daughter’s right to express her views. “Everyone has the right to speak. Aniruddhacharya made a comment about women, saying that 24-25 year old women leave their homes. It was his own thinking, but my daughter is a woman and in the army, so she said that no one can insult women.” He further emphasized that Khushboo’s remarks were twisted and linked to Premanand Maharaj, whom the family respects.
Police are currently investigating the shooting incident and the social media threats that preceded it. The family is cooperating with the investigation, and authorities are examining social media posts related to the controversy. The family has refrained from commenting on speculation linking the incident to the Goldy Brar gang, urging the public to await the outcome of the police investigation.
