The meeting, chaired by Director General of Police Jitender, focused on leveraging technology and inter-agency coordination to protect passengers and combat illicit activities.
Senior officials from the Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF), and intelligence agencies participated in the review. DGP Jitender emphasized the strategic deployment of CCTV cameras at railway stations to deter theft, drug trafficking, and other criminal activities. He urged for enhanced collaboration between the GRP and RPF through regular coordination meetings to strengthen vigilance.
The DGP issued directives to crack down on various offenses, including thefts, suspicious deaths, crimes against women, and drug-related crimes. He specifically instructed officials to conduct rigorous background checks on private personnel operating within railway premises. Operation AAHT (Action Against Human Trafficking), a crucial initiative targeting human trafficking, was mandated to continue with full force. Furthermore, DGP Jitender stressed the importance of timely filing of chargesheets and the registration of gang files when apprehending repeat property offenders.
