Fri Sep 12 15:13:34 UTC 2025: **Suspect Arrested in Shooting Death of Conservative Activist Charlie Kirk; “Full of Hate,” Say Sources**
**OREM, UT -** Tyler Robinson, 22, has been apprehended and identified as the suspect in the fatal shooting of prominent conservative activist Charlie Kirk, authorities announced Friday. The arrest followed a two-day federal manhunt, fueled by over 11,000 tips from the public.
Utah Governor Spencer Cox confirmed Robinson’s identity at a press conference, stating that a family member of the suspect contacted authorities after Robinson allegedly confessed or implied involvement in the shooting. Friends and family described him as “full of hate” when discussing Charlie Kirk at a recent social gathering.
President Donald Trump, speaking on Fox & Friends, had earlier announced the arrest, praising Kirk as “brilliant” and “like a son” who assisted him with TikTok strategies. Trump expressed hope that Robinson would receive the death penalty.
Kirk, 31, a staunch Trump ally, was shot in the neck on Wednesday while addressing a crowd of 3,000 people at Utah Valley University. He was transported to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
Investigators identified Robinson through surveillance footage showing him arriving at the university in a Dodge Challenger on the morning of September 10. His family confirmed he drives such a vehicle. A bolt-action rifle, believed to be the weapon used in the shooting, was recovered wrapped in a towel in nearby woodland.
Governor Cox revealed cryptic messages engraved on shell casings found with the rifle, including phrases such as “Notices, bulges OWO what’s this?” and anti-fascist statements. Investigators also found messages from Robinson to his roommate discussing picking up the scoped rifle from a “drop point” and engraving shell casings.
Governor Cox and Trump have both advocated for the death penalty in this case. Cox called Kirk’s death a “watershed moment,” urging Americans to de-escalate tensions and engage in meaningful community interaction.
Kirk’s murder has sparked outrage among conservatives, with some blaming the political left for the violence. Isabella Maria DeLuca, a January 6 rioter, claimed Kirk’s assassination was the culmination of hostility towards Trump’s MAGA movement.
