**Telangana CM Pushes for New Railway Line to Boost Exports**

**HYDERABAD, September 11, 2025** – Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has strongly advocated for the development of a new, exclusive railway line connecting the upcoming Bharat Future City with the Machilipatnam port in Andhra Pradesh. This initiative aims to facilitate exports from the state both domestically and internationally.

The Chief Minister highlighted the necessity of this railway line during a review meeting on Thursday, held to discuss ongoing and proposed railway sector projects within Telangana. He emphasized that the railway line should align with the proposed greenfield highway connecting Bharat Future City and Machilipatnam, creating a robust transportation corridor. This project will complement the already planned Regional Ring Rail (RRR) development.

“This dedicated railway line is crucial for boosting our industrial sector and streamlining the export process,” stated Chief Minister Reddy. “It will ensure the efficient movement of goods and contribute significantly to the economic growth of Telangana.”

In addition to the port connectivity, the Chief Minister urged officials to explore the feasibility of a bullet train connecting Shamshabad (near Hyderabad’s airport) and Chennai. He believes this high-speed rail link would drastically reduce travel time between the two major cities. He also directed them to expedite the Vikarabad-Krishna new railway line. Officials were directed to keep the future needs in view in the proposals for new railway lines in different parts of the State.
