Thu Sep 11 02:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Mariners Rally, Beat Cardinals, Fuel Playoff Push
**SEATTLE -** Josh Naylor continued his torrid hitting at T-Mobile Park, blasting a tie-breaking home run to lead the Seattle Mariners to a 5-3 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals Tuesday night. Randy Arozarena also contributed with a homer and four RBIs as the Mariners rallied to secure the win.
Naylor, who is batting a scorching .379 with five home runs in his 17 home games since being acquired from Arizona, expressed his love for playing in Seattle. “Every time I was an opponent, this was just the first place I couldn’t wait to come to,” Naylor said. “I really enjoy playing here. It’s a super cool stadium and the fans are always electric.”
The Mariners (77-68) have now won four straight, pulling within a single game of the Houston Astros for the American League West lead. They also maintained a 1 1/2-game lead over the Texas Rangers for the AL’s third and final wild-card berth.
“Big-time games right now,” Naylor added, emphasizing the team’s playoff aspirations. “We’re in a really awesome push for the playoffs and also a push for the division. It’s time to go… It’s super fun, everything you dream of as a baseball player and obviously the World Series is the end goal.”
Manager Dan Wilson praised Naylor’s intense and driven approach to the game. “He is as intense as they come… He’s a leader and an exceptional player. He finds barrels and in big moments is able to slow things down.”
Matthew Liberatore (6-3) took the loss for the Cardinals (72-74), who fell further behind in the National League wild-card race. Masyn Winn was a late scratch for St. Louis due to knee soreness.
The Mariners will look to sweep the series Wednesday night as Logan Gilbert (4-6, 3.61 ERA) takes the mound against Michael McGreevy (6-3, 4.68 ERA).
