Wed Sep 10 22:44:38 UTC 2025: ## Qatar Accuses Netanyahu of Regional “Chaos” After Israeli Strike, Regional Leaders Rally in Support
**Doha, Qatar** – Qatar’s Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani has strongly condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, accusing him of leading the Middle East into “chaos” following an Israeli strike on Doha. The attack, which targeted Hamas leaders discussing a ceasefire proposal, has drawn widespread condemnation and prompted a wave of solidarity from regional leaders who have flocked to Qatar in support.
The Israeli military targeted Hamas leaders in Doha on Tuesday as they were meeting to discuss the latest Gaza ceasefire proposal put forth by US President Donald Trump. At least seven people were killed in the attack, but Hamas said its leadership survived the assassination bid. Qatar says two of its security officers were killed in the attack that has drawn global condemnation.
“There is a response that will happen from the region,” Sheikh Mohammed told CNN, hinting at potential collective action. “This response is currently under consultation and discussion with other partners in the region.” He further warned that “the entire Gulf region is at risk.”
The attack, which resulted in casualties including Qatari security officers, has been described as “state terrorism” by the Qatari Prime Minister. Sheikh Mohammed also accused Netanyahu of undermining any hope for the release of Israeli hostages held in Gaza.
Regional condemnation has been swift and unified. UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan called the Israeli action “criminal” and a threat to regional stability, reaffirming his country’s “resolute solidarity with Qatar.” Similar expressions of support have poured in from Kuwait, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia, with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman pledging unwavering support for Qatar and condemning the “brutal aggression.”
Hezbollah’s leader warned that the strike on Qatar served as a warning to oil-rich Gulf countries that they would not be spared if armed groups in the region were defeated. He reiterated support for Qatar and the Palestinian resistance, viewing the attack as part of Israel’s attempts to create a “Greater Israel” in large parts of the Middle East.
French President Emmanuel Macron also condemned the strike in a phone call with the Qatari Emir, reaffirming France’s commitment to Qatar’s sovereignty and security.
Netanyahu, however, appears defiant, even threatening further attacks on nations “harboring terrorists.” In response, Qatar condemned Netanyahu’s “reckless” comments, reminding him that its hosting of the Hamas office was at the request of the US and Israel for mediation purposes.
The US reaction remains ambiguous. President Trump stated he was “not thrilled” about the strike, claiming it was Netanyahu’s decision. This has raised questions about the extent of US knowledge or approval of the attack and whether it signifies a shift in the traditionally unwavering US support for Israel.
The attack comes amid escalating violence in Gaza, where over 64,000 Palestinians have been killed since October 2023, and a broader pattern of Israeli strikes extending beyond its immediate borders. The Qatari Prime Minister has called for Netanyahu to be held accountable for breaking international law and potentially tried at the International Criminal Court.
