**Webb Reaches Milestone as Giants Surge in Wild Card Chase with Explosive Offense**
**SAN FRANCISCO, CA** – Logan Webb achieved a significant milestone in his career Monday night, notching his 200th strikeout of the season in the Giants’ dominant 11-5 victory over the Arizona D-backs at Oracle Park. The win propels San Francisco (73-71) closer to a National League Wild Card spot, now trailing the New York Mets by three games.
Webb, who struck out seven over six innings, attributed his increased strikeout numbers to improved execution. “I think it’s just execution,” said Bailey. “I feel like this year, he’s been really dialed in about locating with pitches.” This season marks a career-high for Webb, averaging 9.8 strikeouts per nine innings, a significant jump from 7.6 in 2024.
The Giants’ offense exploded in support of Webb, highlighted by home runs from Jung Hoo Lee, Dominic Smith, Heliot Ramos, Matt Chapman, and Patrick Bailey. The five home runs marked the most in a single game at Oracle Park since July 31, 2021. Heliot Ramos’s two-run blast in the sixth inning was the final nail in the coffin.
“It’s just a blast to watch,” Webb said. “Obviously, when you’re pitching, you love when you see 11 runs. Even when I’m not pitching, just seeing these guys be resilient, stick to the plans and bring energy.”
Webb leads the National League in both innings pitched (184 2/3) and strikeouts (201).
