Tue Sep 09 20:07:30 UTC 2025: ## Delhi Gears Up for Pollution Season with Tech-Heavy Approach

**New Delhi, September 10, 2025 (The Hindu) -** Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa convened a high-level meeting on Tuesday with 30 stakeholder agencies to strategize for the upcoming peak pollution months of October to February. The Minister outlined 17 critical action points aimed at combating air pollution, with a strong emphasis on technology-based interventions.

These measures include intensified dust control using mist sprayers and water sprinklers, stricter regulation of construction site emissions, exploration of cloud seeding pilot projects, and efforts to prevent open and stubble burning.

Mr. Sirsa also directed the strengthening of green war rooms and complaint redressal systems to ensure rapid response and improved public engagement. He emphasized the government’s commitment to a proactive, round-the-clock effort to combat air pollution, leveraging anti-smog guns, sprinklers, and web-based monitoring.

“Our administration is committed to a proactive, round-the-clock effort against air pollution, deploying tech-based interventions like anti-smog guns, sprinklers, and Web-based monitoring to ensure every corner of Delhi breathes easier,” stated Mr. Sirsa.

The Minister urged agencies to expedite road repairs and meet all installation targets before the October deadline. Authorities reported the deployment of 174 anti-smog guns on high-rise buildings and the installation of 219 mist spraying systems along road stretches covering 13 identified pollution hotspots. They also stated that 5.95 lakh challans have been issued for pollution violations up to August 2025. The Delhi government hopes these combined efforts will significantly mitigate air pollution during the winter months.
