Wed Sep 10 00:22:48 UTC 2025: ## Israeli Bombardment Intensifies in Gaza, Trapping Over 1.3 Million, While Strike Hits Doha
**Gaza City/Doha -** Amidst stalled ceasefire negotiations, Israeli forces have intensified their assault on Gaza, leaving over 1.3 million people trapped in Gaza City and surrounding areas, and killing dozens. Separately, a controversial Israeli strike in Doha, Qatar, targeting Hamas leaders, has drawn international condemnation and threatens to derail peace talks.
On Tuesday alone, over 50 Palestinians were killed in Gaza, including civilians seeking aid. Reports indicate residential buildings were struck, and a drone strike hit a makeshift tent sheltering displaced families at Gaza’s port. Al Jazeera’s Sanad fact-checking agency confirmed an Israeli strike on the Ibn Taymiyyah mosque in Deir el-Balah.
Despite repeated claims of a “humanitarian zone” in al-Mawasi, that area remains overcrowded and has been repeatedly bombed. Philippe Lazzarini, head of UNRWA, described the situation there as a vast camp filled with “hungry Palestinians in despair,” stating, “There is no safe place in Gaza.”
The Palestinian Civil Defence reports widespread destruction, stating that five high-rise towers containing over 200 apartments have been destroyed in just 72 hours, leaving thousands homeless. Over 350 tents sheltering displaced families were also flattened.
The dire situation has led to famine and widespread displacement. Over 64,000 Palestinians have reportedly been killed in the offensive, prompting accusations of genocide.
Adding to the tensions, Israeli missiles struck Doha while Hamas leaders were meeting for ceasefire talks mediated by the United States. Hamas reports five fatalities, while Qatar says a security official was also killed. The attack has been widely condemned as a violation of Qatari sovereignty.
Qatar’s Emir condemned the “reckless criminal attack,” while the Qatari Prime Minister expressed doubts about the viability of ongoing negotiations.
While the White House claimed to have warned Qatar of the impending strike, Doha refuted this claim. Former President Trump stated that the Doha attack was Prime Minister Netanyahu’s “decision” and was not made by the US.
The situation continues to deteriorate in Gaza as a large number of civilians are caught in the crossfire, and regional stability is threatened by the Doha strike.
