Mon Sep 08 07:00:00 UTC 2025: ## No. 14 Florida State Annihilates East Texas A&M in Record-Breaking Performance
**TALLAHASSEE, Fla.** – The No. 14 Florida State Seminoles (2-0) delivered a historic performance Saturday afternoon, crushing East Texas A&M 77-3 at Doak Campbell Stadium. The Seminoles set program milestones and tied records in a dominant showing that left little doubt about their offensive prowess.
FSU scored touchdowns on their first 10 drives, a feat never before accomplished in program history. The 77-point outburst marked the first time the Seminoles reached that mark since 2017, and the 74-point margin of victory tied the school record. The team also tied the school record for touchdowns scored in a game with 11.
The Seminoles’ offense was firing on all cylinders, amassing 729 total yards, the most since a 2000 matchup against Clemson. The first half alone saw 416 yards of offense, the highest first-half total by any team in the nation this season.
Quarterback Tommy Castellanos had a stellar game, completing eight of 11 passes for 237 yards and three touchdowns. He also surpassed 4,000 career passing yards. Wide receiver Duce Robinson stole the show, racking up career highs with five receptions, 173 receiving yards, and two touchdowns, including an FSU record-breaking 160 receiving yards in the first quarter. Running back Gavin Sawchuk also had a strong game with 88 yards of offense and three touchdowns.
The Seminole defense was equally impressive, recording nine tackles-for-loss, three sacks, and two interceptions. The unit has now recorded at least 5.0 TFL in 13 consecutive games, the longest streak since 2006. Furthermore, the Tony White-led defense has not allowed a rushing touchdown in nine consecutive home games.
After forcing a quick punt to begin the game, the Seminoles drove 78 yards on 12 plays, capped off on a 1-yard Sawchuk rush. Florida State found the end zone four minutes later, on a one-play 82-yard touchdown pass from Castellanos to Robinson. The pair connected again for a 42-yard touchdown to put Florida State up 21-0 to end the first quarter.
The Seminoles will now enter their first bye week of the 2025 season before returning to Doak Campbell Stadium to host Kent State on Saturday, Sept. 20th. Game time is still to be determined.
