**Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande Dominate the 2025 VMAs, Mariah Carey Honored with Video Vanguard Award**

ELMONT, NY – The 2025 MTV Video Music Awards aired live from the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York Sunday night, with Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande emerging as the night’s biggest winners. LL Cool J hosted the show, which aired on CBS in addition to its longtime home on MTV, and streamed on Paramount+.

Ariana Grande took home Video of the Year for “Brighter Days Ahead,” winning a total of three awards. Lady Gaga was named Artist of the Year and won four Moon Person trophies total including Best Collaboration with Bruno Mars for “Die With a Smile”. Despite canceling a Miami show due to vocal strain, Gaga powered through, even performing “Abracadabra” and “The Dead Dance” from her Madison Square Garden show during the broadcast. Sabrina Carpenter also had a strong showing, winning Album of the Year for “Short n’ Sweet” and two other awards.

Rosé, in collaboration with Bruno Mars, won Song of the Year for “APT.,” and KATSEYE took home MTV Push Performance of the Year for “Touch.”

The night also honored legendary artists. Mariah Carey received the Video Vanguard Award, Busta Rhymes received the inaugural Rock the Bells Visionary Award, and Ricky Martin accepted the inaugural Latin Icon Award. All three delivered memorable performances.

This year’s VMAs introduced two new categories: Best Pop Artist, won by Sabrina Carpenter, and Best Country Video, won by Megan Moroney for “Am I Okay?”.

The show, produced by former MTV head Van Toffler and Gunpowder & Sky along with Den of Thieves, delivered a night of high-energy performances and celebrated the best in music videos.
