**#14 Florida State Decimates East Texas A&M in 77-3 Rout**
**TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -** The No. 14 Florida State Seminoles (2-0) delivered a dominant performance Saturday, crushing East Texas A&M (0-2) by a score of 77-3. Quarterback Tommy Castellanos threw for 237 yards and three touchdowns, two of which went to standout receiver Duce Robinson, as the Seminoles scored on their first 10 drives of the game.
Florida State’s offensive onslaught saw them amass 361 rushing yards, averaging an impressive 7.1 yards per carry. Gavin Sawchuk contributed three touchdowns, including a 53-yard catch-and-run, marking his first career receiving touchdown. The Seminoles’ six passing touchdowns were their most in a game since 2011, a testament to the balanced and explosive offense orchestrated by Coach Mike Norvell.
“I thought they truly came with a purpose and a passion to get better,” Norvell said, pleased with his team’s response following their upset victory over Alabama in the season opener.
Robinson, a transfer from Southern Cal, had a record-setting first quarter, racking up 160 receiving yards – the most by an FSU player in a single quarter in program history. He finished the game with five catches for 173 yards and two touchdowns, including a highlight-reel one-handed grab.
Beyond the offensive fireworks, the Seminoles honored freshman linebacker Ethan Pritchard, who was recently shot, by wearing sweatbands bearing his No. 35. Earl Little Jr. brought Pritchard’s jersey to midfield for the coin toss.
“It’s something that made us go out there and play for him today,” Castellanos said. “His dad was with us on the sideline and in the locker room. We’re praying for Ethan. We wish him a speedy recovery and hopefully God upstairs gives him a second chance at life.”
Pritchard remains in critical but stable condition.
The Seminoles, who were unranked to start the season, are unlikely to see a significant jump in the rankings despite the decisive win.
**Looking Ahead:** Florida State has a bye week before hosting Kent State on September 20. East Texas A&M also has a bye before traveling to Grambling on the same date.
