Speaking at a Congress-organized political conference in Tirunelveli on Sunday, titled “We will prevent vote theft, we will protect democracy,” Chidambaram accused the Election Commission of being a “puppet in the hands of the BJP.” He cited instances of vote manipulation in other states like Bihar, Karnataka, and Maharashtra, where he claims fake voters were added, genuine voters were deleted, and multiple votes were cast in the names of BJP members.
