Sat Sep 06 22:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Utah Utes Look to Continue Momentum Against Cal Poly After Crushing UCLA

**SALT LAKE CITY, UT -** The Utah Utes are riding high after a dominant 43-10 victory over UCLA in their season opener. Coach Kyle Whittingham’s team hopes to carry that momentum into their home opener against Cal Poly this Saturday, September 6th, 2025, at Rice-Eccles Stadium.

After a disappointing 5-7 season in 2024, the Utes underwent significant changes in the offseason. The most notable additions are quarterback Devon Dampier and offensive coordinator Jason Beck, both arriving from New Mexico.

The Dampier-Beck connection proved immediately fruitful against the Bruins. Dampier showcased his dual-threat ability, racking up 293 total yards and three touchdowns while completing 21 of 25 passes. The Utes offense achieved their highest point total against a Football Bowl Subdivision opponent since 2023.

Utah’s defense also shined, stifling UCLA’s highly touted transfer quarterback Nico Iamaleava and limiting the Bruins to just 220 total yards.

Cal Poly enters the game with a 1-0 record of their own after defeating San Diego 41-17. The Mustangs are also receiving votes in the FCS Coaches Poll, meaning that Utah will have to be on their A-game to repeat their performance from last week.

**How to Watch:**

The Utah vs. Cal Poly game will be exclusively streamed on ESPN+. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. ET. Mark Neely will provide play-by-play commentary, with Barrett Brooks serving as the analyst.
