**HYDERABAD, September 7, 2025** – Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will break ground on a series of vital drinking water projects on Monday, marking a significant step towards rejuvenating reservoirs and enhancing water supply for Hyderabad and its surrounding regions.

The ambitious Musi Rejuvenation Programme is at the forefront of these efforts. This project, valued at ₹7,360 crore and executed under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM), will draw water from the Mallannasagar Reservoir to replenish the Osmansagar and Himayatsagar reservoirs. Of the 20 TMC ft transported, 2.5 TMC ft will be dedicated to the Musi River’s revitalization, while the remaining 17.5 TMC ft will bolster Hyderabad’s drinking water reserves. The project is slated for completion within two years and includes the filling of seven intermediate reservoirs along its route. The state government aims to provide daily piped water across Hyderabad by 2027.

In addition, the Chief Minister will also inaugurate the ₹1,200 crore Outer Ring Road (ORR) Phase-II drinking water project. This initiative aims to provide drinking water to areas along the ORR, benefiting an estimated 2.5 million residents across 14 mandals. The project includes 71 reservoirs, with 15 newly constructed ones being formally commissioned.
