Sat Sep 06 16:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Hyderabad Metro Extends Hours for Ganesh Immersion Amid Road Closures

**Hyderabad, India – September 6, 2025** – In response to widespread road closures and traffic congestion due to the Ganesh immersion processions, Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) has announced extended service hours for today, Saturday, September 6th, 2025. Metro services will now run until 1:00 AM from all stations, providing a crucial transportation alternative for commuters and devotees navigating the city during the festivities.

The decision was made to alleviate the inconvenience caused by traffic restrictions and road blockages as thousands of Ganesh idols are transported through the city for immersion. Police have closed key roads to accommodate the processions, leading to significant disruptions for regular citizens.

“We understand the challenges faced by the public during the Ganesh immersion, and we are committed to providing a reliable transportation option,” said an HMRL spokesperson. “These extended hours will help ensure people can travel safely and conveniently despite the road closures.”

Meanwhile, traffic restrictions remain in place across the city for the immersion. Officials have stated that restrictions will continue until 10:00 AM on Sunday, with stricter measures expected around Hussain Sagar Lake throughout the day. Entry for heavy vehicles, including lorries, is restricted to the Outer Ring Road.

The extension of metro services offers a welcome solution for Hyderabad residents and visitors during this period of significant traffic disruption.
