**Two Arrested in Ranipet for Robbery of IT Professional**

**RANIPET, September 5, 2025** – Arcot Taluk police have arrested two individuals, N. Dinesh Kumar, 28, and R. Karthi, 24, both residents of Arcot town, in connection with the robbery of an IT professional that occurred on August 30th.

According to police reports, S. Vivekanandan, 52, a Chennai-based software professional, was traveling home from the Arcot bus terminus on his two-wheeler when he was accosted by Karthi, who requested a ride. After a short distance, Karthi directed Vivekanandan to stop at an isolated location on Arcot Main Road, where Dinesh Kumar was waiting. The pair allegedly threatened Vivekanandan and stole his two-wheeler, mobile phone, and laptop before fleeing.

Following a formal complaint, police launched an investigation, analyzing CCTV footage which led to the identification of Kumar and Karthi, who have prior criminal records. Acting on a tip-off, officers apprehended the suspects at their hideout in Arcot town. They have since been remanded to Central Prison in Vellore. Further investigations are ongoing.
