**BILLUND, Denmark -** LEGO has officially announced its largest and most expensive Star Wars set to date: the LEGO Star Wars Death Star – Ultimate Collector Series (75419). The massive set, priced at $999.99, boasts an astounding 9,023 pieces and includes a staggering 38 minifigures.

The set doesn’t represent a full sphere of the Death Star, but instead a detailed cross-section of the iconic space station. The open design allows builders to explore numerous rooms and scenes from the original Star Wars trilogy. Fan-favorite moments like the garbage compactor scene, Obi-Wan Kenobi’s duel with Darth Vader, and the Emperor’s throne room are all faithfully recreated within the build.

The impressive minifigure roster includes heroes and villains alike, such as Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia, Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine, and a host of supporting characters, including Stormtroopers, Imperial officers, and droids.

LEGO Insiders (free sign up here) will get early access to the set on October 1st, while the general public can purchase it starting October 4th. As a bonus, early buyers will receive the TIE Fighter with Imperial Hangar Rack set as a Gift With Purchase.

“This Death Star is the ultimate tribute to the Star Wars saga,” says Chris Reed, commerce editor and LEGO expert at IGN. “It’s a massive, immersive build filled with incredible detail and a truly impressive collection of minifigures.
