**GST Relief Welcomed, More Simplification Needed, Says MP Chidambaram**
**Sivaganga, India – September 4, 2025** – Congress MP Karti Chidambaram of Sivaganga praised the BJP government on Thursday for finally addressing demands for simplification and reduction of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) structure. Speaking to reporters, Chidambaram stated that the previous GST rates were confusing and a burden on businesses due to alleged harassment by officials. He asserted that earlier action on this front would have significantly benefited marginalized communities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
