**Bengaluru Tackles Waste Collection Woes with New “Track Duty” Platform**

**Bengaluru, India – September 5, 2025** – The Bengaluru Solid Waste Management Limited (BSWML) is deploying a new digital platform called “Track Duty” to improve the efficiency and punctuality of waste collection services across the city. The initiative comes after BSWML observed attendance rates for waste collection auto tippers hovering between 75% and 85%, resulting in increased illegal dumping and new “black spots” forming throughout Bengaluru.

According to BSWML sources, the lack of a robust monitoring system allowed for inconsistent work schedules among waste collection crews. To combat this, new Chief Executive Officer Karee Gowda initially implemented a temporary measure requiring officials to share their live locations in a WhatsApp group. He also moved the daily mustering time from 6:30 AM to 5:30 AM.

The “Track Duty” platform is now designed to streamline this process, providing a unified system for tracking officials in the field. BSWML reports significant improvements already, with auto tipper attendance rising to 95% following 15 days of officials regularly attending mustering under the CEO’s direction.

“There are approximately 200 mustering centers across the city, and senior officials are personally visiting these centers every morning to inspect attendance,” announced Mr. Gowda on Friday.

BSWML emphasized that alongside improved attendance, auto tipper drivers are being instructed to ensure door-to-door collection and proper segregation of wet and dry waste. The move is expected to further improve the efficacy of Bengaluru’s waste management efforts.
