Milli Yabi, daughter of a farmer and homemaker from Sarli village bordering Tibet, achieved this milestone thanks to a mentorship program launched by the Indian Army’s 4 Corps.
Sarli, a village with limited resources and educational opportunities, saw a spark of hope in 2024 when the Army initiated its mentorship program. Milli was among 33 students from Classes 5 and 8 who received structured support, including 88 classes, 18 mock tests, and extensive counselling. The students also participated in a motivational tour, interacting with the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh and visiting key institutions.
The Army’s efforts bore fruit, with an unprecedented 32 out of the 33 students qualifying at the national level. Milli Yabi emerged as the first candidate to secure admission to Sainik School Siang.
