Thu Sep 04 00:40:00 UTC 2025: **Qantas Taps Rebecca Vallance to Design New Uniforms, Replacing Martin Grant’s Look**
**Sydney, Australia** – Qantas has announced Australian designer Rebecca Vallance as the new creative force behind its iconic uniforms, set to debut in 2027. Vallance, known for her timeless elegance and international appeal, will replace the current French navy, ruby red, and fuchsia pink designs created by Paris-based Australian designer Martin Grant in 2013.
The airline conducted a rigorous selection process for the coveted contract, with Vallance expressing immense excitement and acknowledging the “big deal and a big responsibility” that comes with it.
Qantas CEO Vanessa Hudson emphasized the importance of the uniform in representing the “Qantas spirit all over the world.” To ensure the new design reflects the airline’s values and the needs of its employees, Qantas surveyed its 17,500 uniformed staff for their input.
Vallance’s brand, which launched in 2011, has gained international recognition for its evening wear and tailored suiting, worn by figures such as Princess Beatrice and Paris Hilton. Vallance believes her brand’s focus on “timeless elegance” and premium quality aligns perfectly with Qantas’s image as a premium airline.
The design process is still in its early stages, but Vallance says she aims to deliver a uniform that Qantas staff will be proud to wear. She also plans to carefully consider the inclusion of First Nations elements in the design.
Vallance has been previously associated with Qantas, having designed pyjamas and amenities kits for the airline’s business class passengers in 2023. She expressed feeling acknowledged by Qantas and Australia. “This is the dream,” she said.
