Thu Sep 04 13:00:00 UTC 2025: ## BCCI Seeks Sponsorship Gold: Raises Base Price for Team India Sponsorship Rights

**Mumbai, India -** The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is aiming for a lucrative sponsorship deal for the Indian cricket team, announcing a significant increase in the base price for lead sponsor rights. With the previous sponsor, Dream11, exiting the arrangement due to the government’s new online gaming regulations, the BCCI is seeking a new partner for the next three years.

According to sources, the new reserve price is set at INR 3.5 crore (approximately $420,000 USD) per bilateral match and INR 1.5 crore (approximately $180,000 USD) per multilateral fixture, such as ICC and ACC tournaments. This represents a substantial increase from the previous rates of INR 3.17 crore and INR 1.12 crore, respectively. The BCCI anticipates a valuation uplift of over 10% for bilateral contests and around 3% for multilateral tournaments.

The higher price for bilateral matches reflects the greater brand visibility afforded to sponsors, whose logos are prominently displayed on players’ chests during these games. In contrast, during ICC and ACC events, the branding is limited to the sleeves, resulting in less prominent exposure.

The BCCI’s Invitation for Expression of Interest, released earlier this week, specifies that certain industries are prohibited from bidding, including gaming, betting, crypto, tobacco, athleisure, sportswear, banking, financial companies, non-alcoholic cold beverages, fans, mixer grinders, safety locks and insurance companies. This is due to potential conflicts with existing BCCI sponsors or the impact of the government’s online gaming regulations.

With approximately 130 matches scheduled over the next three years, including the T20 World Cup in 2026 and the ODI World Cup in 2027, the BCCI stands to potentially earn over INR 400 crore from the sponsorship deal, with the final figure potentially exceeding this estimate.

The bidding process is scheduled for September 16th, meaning a new sponsor will not be in place for the upcoming Asia Cup, which begins on September 9th. A senior BCCI official has confirmed that there will be no interim sponsor. The BCCI is confident in securing a strong and financially rewarding partnership that benefits both the Indian cricket team and the chosen sponsor.
