**New Delhi, September 3rd** – Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest car manufacturer, today officially revealed its fifth SUV offering, the Maruti Victoris, to the Indian market. While the unveiling was a showcase, pricing details are yet to be announced. The Victoris will be available in six different trim variants through Maruti Suzuki’s Arena dealerships.

This mid-size SUV, positioned as a flagship model for the Arena network, marks the brand’s second entry into the segment. According to Maruti Suzuki MD & CEO Hisashi Takeuchi, SUV contribution to the company’s total sales has significantly risen from 8.9% in FY20-21 to 28% in FY24-25. The Victoris is expected to further strengthen Maruti Suzuki’s presence in the SUV market.

Takeuchi emphasized the global aspirations for the Victoris, stating that the India-manufactured SUV will be exported to over 100 countries. This follows Maruti Suzuki’s recent commencement of electric car production at its Hansalpur plant in Gujarat, with initial exports of nearly 2,900 units to 12 countries.

Maruti Suzuki’s Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Partho Banerjee highlighted the Victoris’ design tailored for the younger generation, boasting advanced technologies designed to simplify daily life.

The Victoris showcases a new design language, drawing inspiration from Maruti’s upcoming e-Vitara electric SUV. Key design features include a chrome-stripped front grille, large LED headlights, 17-inch alloy wheels, blacked-out pillars, silver roof rails, and a segmented LED light bar at the rear.

Inside, the Victoris is packed with features such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an 8-speaker sound system with Dolby Atmos, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, connected car technology, leatherette upholstery, automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, wireless charger, an 8-way electrically adjustable driver seat, a head-up display, and a cabin air filter.

Under the hood, the Victoris offers three engine options: a 103hp 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder mild-hybrid petrol engine, a 116hp 1.5-liter, 3-cylinder strong-hybrid setup, and an 89hp 1.5-liter petrol-CNG option. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic for the petrol engine, an e-CVT for the strong hybrid, and a 5-speed manual for the CNG variant. All-wheel drive will also be available with the petrol-auto configuration.

Banerjee highlighted segment-first features such as a smart powered tailgate with gesture control, 64-color ambient lighting, and Alexa voice assistant support. The SUV also boasts an underbody CNG tank for increased boot space.

Maruti Suzuki claims the Victoris delivers a premium audio experience with its Dolby Atmos surround sound system, allowing users to personalize their music experience.

The Victoris will be available in ten colors, including Arctic White, Splendid Silver, Eternal Blue, Sizzling Red, Magma Grey, Bluish Black, and Mystic Green, along with three stylish dual-tone options.

Safety is a key focus, with the Victoris being Maruti Suzuki’s first vehicle featuring Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). This includes features such as auto emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane change alert with blind spot monitoring, forward collision warning, and front pass assist system.

Maruti Suzuki confirmed that the Victoris comes standard with six airbags and has already achieved a 5-star safety rating in Bharat NCAP crash tests, scoring highly in both adult and child passenger safety.

The Victoris promises to be a strong contender in the competitive mid-size SUV segment, combining stylish design, advanced technology, and a focus on safety. Pricing details are eagerly awaited.
