Tue Sep 02 19:26:00 UTC 2025: ## News Article: Yamuna Flooding Forces Evacuations in Faridabad, Heavy Rains Cause Havoc in Gurugram
**GURUGRAM, September 3, 2025** – Rising water levels in the Yamuna River have prompted the Faridabad administration to declare 27 villages along its banks as sensitive zones, triggering evacuations in affected areas. Meanwhile, heavy rainfall has led to flooding in Gurugram’s Kadarpur village after check dams in the Aravalli area collapsed.
According to officials, several villages, including Basantpur, Kidawali, and Tilori Khadar, are considered particularly vulnerable. Teams have been deployed to closely monitor the situation in these villages. Residents of flooded homes have been relocated to safe homes provided by the administration, offering accommodation, food, medical assistance, and first aid.
Deputy Commissioner Vikram Singh has urged villagers to remain vigilant, especially at night, as water levels could rise further. “We are doing everything we can to ensure the safety of our citizens,” he stated. “We urge everyone to cooperate with authorities and move to the designated safe homes.”
In Gurugram, the collapse of several check dams in the Aravalli hills, overwhelmed by heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours, has caused a flood-like situation in the lower-lying areas of Kadarpur village. SDM Sanjeev Singla inspected the damage and instructed the irrigation department to urgently control the flow of rainwater from the Aravalli hills into residential areas and expedite relief efforts.
The Faridabad and Gurugram administrations are working to address the immediate needs of affected residents. More updates to follow as the situation develops.
