**San Francisco, CA** – Despite being sidelined with a right groin injury for her 18th consecutive game, Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark had a taste of home in the Bay Area on Sunday night. During the Fever’s 75-63 loss to the Golden State Valkyries at Chase Center, Clark was spotted on the bench surrounded by familiar faces from her days as an Iowa Hawkeye.

Among those cheering her on were San Francisco 49ers tight end and Iowa football legend George Kittle, accompanied by his wife Claire and friends Kyle and Kristin Juszczyk. Kittle, who recently signed a four-year extension to stay with the 49ers through 2029, has made no secret of his support for the former Hawkeye star.

Also in attendance was former Iowa women’s basketball teammate Gabbie Marshall, along with her boyfriend, former Iowa basketball guard Spencer Touro. Coincidentally, current Iowa forward Jada Gyamfi joined Marshall in San Francisco for a surprise visit. Marshall, who recently retired from basketball to pursue her master’s degree in occupational therapy, posed for a photo with Clark, Gyamfi, and Valkyries guard Kate Martin after the game.

While the reunion provided a welcome distraction for Clark, the Fever struggled on the court, falling to the Valkyries. With only four regular-season games remaining, Clark and the Fever will look to regroup before traveling to Phoenix to face the Mercury on Tuesday night.
