Mon Sep 01 23:10:00 UTC 2025: **Chrisley Family Drama Continues: New Lifetime Series Captures Presidential Pardon and Family Fallout**
Los Angeles, CA – “The Chrisleys: Back to Reality,” a new eight-part docu-series premiering tonight on Lifetime, promises an inside look at the Chrisley family following the conviction and subsequent presidential pardon of Todd and Julie Chrisley on charges of bank fraud, wire fraud, and tax evasion.
The series, produced by Bunim/Murray Productions, captures the raw emotions and logistical scramble after former President Donald Trump personally called Savannah Chrisley to inform her of the impending pardons. Production had nearly wrapped when the call came, forcing the team to mobilize quickly to film Todd and Julie’s release from prison in Florida and Kentucky, respectively, while the rest of the family waited in Nashville.
“It’s a true immersive experience,” said Jesse Daniels of Bunim/Murray, explaining the use of professional and cell phone footage to capture the chaotic events. The series aims to show the “raw and real lives” of the Chrisleys as they coped with Todd and Julie’s imprisonment, as well as the aftermath of the pardons.
The show will also address Savannah Chrisley taking custody of her younger siblings, Chase’s business ventures and relationship, and the return of Todd’s mother, Nanny Faye. Executive producer Farnaz Farjam emphasizes the family’s willingness to be open about their struggles, stating, “They’re not afraid to just be who they are on camera.”
However, the series also touches upon darker aspects of the Chrisley saga, including the family’s estrangement from daughter Lindsie and allegations of infidelity against Todd, including a claim of an affair with a former business associate.
The Chrisleys maintain their innocence despite their conviction, with Todd stating in the series that the “truth will come out.”
While the producers assert they have taken a neutral stance, the series will inevitably reignite debate surrounding the Chrisleys’ case, their relationship with former President Trump, and the implications of the presidential pardons.
Whether this will be a one-off or continue to another season remains to be seen. “There’s still more of a story to tell with them,” stated Farjam.
