**Shivamogga, September 2, 2025:** The Karnataka government is set to significantly expand its public education system with the establishment of 800 new Karnataka Public Schools (KP Schools) across the state. Minister for School Education, Madhu Bangarappa, announced the ambitious plan at a press conference in Shivamogga on Tuesday.

The grand inauguration, expected to be held in Shivamogga in October, will be graced by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, and other prominent state leaders.

“This is a monumental step towards enhancing the quality of education, especially in the Kalyana Karnataka region,” stated Minister Bangarappa. A majority of the new schools will be located in the Kalyana Karnataka region.

The initiative will be largely funded by the Kalyan Karnataka Region Development Board (KKRDB). “We are utilising a major chunk of funds of the KKRDB for setting up KP Schools in that region,” said Bangarappa.
