**No. 2 Penn State Volleyball Suffers First Loss of Season to No. 13 Arizona State at State Farm Showcase**

**PITTSBURGH, Pa. -** The second-ranked Penn State women’s volleyball team experienced its first defeat of the season on Sunday, falling to No. 13 Arizona State in a hard-fought 3-1 match (21-25, 25-23, 25-20, 31-29) at PPG Paints Arena as part of the State Farm Women’s Volleyball Showcase.

The Nittany Lions, now 2-1 on the season, started strong by taking the first set 25-21, showcasing a dominant .519 hitting percentage. However, Arizona State (2-0) rallied, winning the next three sets with a strong defensive performance and clutch plays.

Kennedy Martin led Penn State with a stellar performance, recording 23 kills, 12 digs, and three blocks, extending her streak of double-digit kill matches to 56. Caroline Jurevicius also contributed significantly with five kills in the first set, hitting .833.

Arizona State’s Noemie Glover proved to be a formidable opponent, hitting .372 with 22 kills and adding an impressive 10 blocks and two digs. Her dominant performance in the fourth set, which featured 22 ties and 11 lead changes, ultimately secured the victory for the Sun Devils.

Penn State will look to rebound quickly as they face No. 25 TCU on Monday at 5 p.m. at PPG Paints Arena. The match will be broadcast on FOX.
