**TADEPALLI, [Date]** – Andhra Pradesh is preparing to observe the 16th death anniversary of the late Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy, former Chief Minister and beloved leader, on [Date – Tomorrow]. Known affectionately as YSR, he is remembered for his pro-poor policies and dedication to the welfare of farmers, laborers, and marginalized communities.

YSR, who tragically passed away in a helicopter crash on September 2, 2009, remains a prominent figure in the state’s history. His administration is credited with implementing numerous impactful schemes, including the ‘Rajiv Aarogyasri’ health insurance program, free electricity for farmers, and the ‘Jalayagnam’ irrigation project. These initiatives significantly improved the lives of countless families across Andhra Pradesh.

He died while setting out to villages to check on the implementation of government programs and interacting with the people. His commitment to understanding and addressing the needs of the people directly, as highlighted in his last words, cemented his image as a leader who truly cared.

Tomorrow, YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders and supporters will organize memorial events across the state. These will include floral tributes to YSR’s statues, charitable activities such as food distribution and blanket donations, and special prayers.

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is scheduled to participate in a prayer ceremony at the YSR Ghat in Idupulapaya to pay his respects to his father.

Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy, born on July 8, 1949, served as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for five years. His tenure is remembered as a golden era of development and welfare, leaving an enduring legacy on the state.
