**Madrid, Spain** – Barcelona’s perfect start to the LaLiga season came to an abrupt halt on Saturday as they were held to a 1-1 draw by a determined Rayo Vallecano side at the Estadio de Vallecas. Lamine Yamal’s first-half penalty, controversially awarded due to a VAR malfunction, was canceled out by a stunning volley from Fran Pérez in the second half, earning Rayo a well-deserved point.

Despite late pressure from Barcelona, Rayo Vallecano held firm, denying the Catalan giants a winning goal. García continued his heroics, denying De Frutos in a one-on-one situation and saving another effort from Pérez.
