**Micah Parsons Traded to Green Bay Packers Amidst Locker Room Concerns, Contract Standoff**
Dallas, TX – In a blockbuster trade shaking up the NFL, All-Pro pass rusher Micah Parsons has been traded to the Green Bay Packers. The move comes amidst reports of locker room friction and a complex contract negotiation between Parsons and the Dallas Cowboys ownership.
According to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer, Parsons’ popularity within the Cowboys locker room was significantly lower compared to players like Zack Martin, CeeDee Lamb, and Dak Prescott. Some teammates reportedly viewed Parsons as “egotistical and self-centered,” with his podcast, “The Edge with Micah Parsons,” also causing issues, even reaching quarterback Dak Prescott.
“I’ve got confidence [he’ll be on the field in Week 1]. I’ve told y’all that back when, and I’m just going off experience, honestly, Prescott said prior to the Parsons trade. So I’ve got confidence in that, just hoping — which I know he is — he’s ready to play.”
Beyond personality clashes, Breer reported that Parsons’ tendency to deviate from structured plays in pursuit of big plays created vulnerabilities in the Cowboys’ run defense. Last season, the Cowboys struggled mightily against the run, allowing an average of 137.1 rushing yards per game, 4.8 yards per carry, and a league-worst 25 rushing touchdowns. The Cowboys have stated that the addition of three-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kenny Clark, acquired in the trade with the Packers, will address those concerns.
With the trade, Parsons has signed a four-year, $188 million extension with the Packers, making him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history with an annual average of $47 million.
